Next year will be the first time that percentages really matter for Vainu. After one million in sales, SaaS companies typically start expressing their growth from percentages to headcount. It sounds much better when you say we’ve grown 1000 % this year rather than recruited 25 people. Next year, if we grow only a third of that it means we need to recruit 75 people. That is a whole bunch of people.

Achieving 1m Eur in annual sales is when money starts to count and percentages start fading away. 1 million in sales is merely a buy–in for the SaaS table and it’s about the race to 10 million euros. As the valuations of tech companies are getting higher so are the requirements - you are a family business if you don’t get from 1m to 10m in 24 months.

We’ve prepared as well as we can. It has all been preparation from being a pet-like start-up to a real company. So what will 2016 be for Vainu? Perhaps another year of preparation, for 2017. Only a few percent of the possibilities of data driven sales has been revealed so far, giving huge advantages to those of us who use it. By utilizing our own product we were able to break even in our first international market outside home in two months and we intend to repeat that process in other markets as well.

During 2016 we will launch Vainu in new platforms with alternative subscription models that will benefit everybody. Also, the amount of data we analyze will be hundredfold. So more markets, more platforms utilizing more data. It will not be easy and it will mean that we need help.
